The @sermas_eu project just launched its first open call-DEVELOP and is looking for innovators, researchers, startups, or SMEs working in the world of #XR to help develop, integrate, deploy, and validate applications for the SERMAS Toolkit.
Apply by 31 October, at 17:00 CET and get the chance to be funded with up to €100 000 per sub-project.
Presenting the project SERMAS: an EU-funded project with the goal of laying the foundations of next-generation XR systems by studying how people and technology interact, which affects the acceptance of technology in social situations. We will develop innovative, formal and systematic methodologies and technologies to model, develop, analyse, test and user-study socially-acceptable XR systems and we invite XR innovators to help us in this journey.
The Open Call 1 DEVELOP covers challenges in the development of hardware and software components grouped into different topics like privacy-preserving facial recognition, avatar generator runtime, multilingual speech recognition and more. We aim to support XR innovators and offer you an innovative, collaborative environment with specialised infrastructure, technology, knowledge, capital and markets and the chance of being funded with up to EUR 100 000 per sub-project.
imec.istart in Belgium is currently working, together with Tomorrowland, on the EntertainmentLAB project. A very interesting opportunity for startups to work together with Tomorrowland and dedicated corporates on real life challenges at the festival. The call is open for all European startups with a focus on Circularity, Crowd Monitoring, and Immersive Experiences. The challenge on Immersive Experiences could be a great opportunity for some organizations within our community.
The EntertainmentLAB project is an initiative of FIT, Startup.Flanders and Flanders Technology & Innovation (FTI), with the support of Tomorrowland, which now calls on start-ups/scale-ups to participate in three challenges, around ‘circularity’, 'immersive experiences' and 'crowd monitoring '. The selected start-ups will receive a budget, the support of a corporate partner and can test their innovations during one of the Tomorrowland events in summer 2024.
